Classification of wool detergents
1. Neutral wool detergent
Neutral wool detergents include anionic surfactants and nonionic surfactants.
Among the anionic surfactants, sodium alkyl sulfonate or sodium p-methoxy aliphatic aminobenzene sulfonate had the best wool washing effect. In order to improve the washing effect, synergists such as sodium oxide and sodium sulfate polymetaphosphate can also be added.
The neutral detergent of non-ionic surfactant has good detergency, and this kind of detergent is not absorbed by wool, and the amount of detergent is less. At present, nonylphenol polyoxyethylene ether is the most widely used nonionic surfactant.
2. Alkaline wool detergent
When wool is washed in the washing liquid with PH value of 8.5-9.5, its spinnability, antistatic property and water absorption are more favorable. Commonly used alkaline detergents are Sodium Alkylbenzene sulfonate, detergent R5, and other anionic surfactants plus soda. Because wool is sensitive to alkali, the pH value, washing liquid temperature and drying temperature should be carefully arranged and mastered in order to prevent damage to the fibers. According to the different medicines used, it can be divided into soap-alkali wool washing, light alkali wool washing and ammonium alkali wool washing.
3. Acidic wool detergent
The alkaline effect of alkaline soil impurities can be eliminated by acid wool washing, which can protect the original elasticity and strength of wool fibers and reduce the shrinkage degree. The addition of surfactant in acid solution can make the lotion diffuse quickly into the fibers and improve the effect of wetting and emulsifying. It can also make the fibers swell and improve the uniformity of the opening angle of the scale layer, so that the wool can be washed easily and has a good luster. Nonionic surfactants such as lauryl alcohol polyoxyethylene ether and anionic surfactants such as sodium alkyl sulfonate and sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate can be used as acid wool detergents.
